Strike Gold with Kodak’s New Metallic Photo Paper

Brand Management Group (BMG) and Kodak have introduced KODAK PROFESSIONAL Inkjet Photo Paper, Metallic / 255g, which is now available and shipping from BMG’s worldwide distributor network.

The new inkjet photo paper was designed to replicate the characteristics of the classic pearlescent papers used in the traditional darkroom while providing photographers and print shops an expanded color gamut and higher Dmax for accurate color and deeper, richer blacks.

“I really like detail and seek to capture that in my photography. It is always appealing to me when the print meets the expectation of the capture. This paper achieves my expectations in spades, so to speak,” says Brian Hampton, Brian Hampton Photography. “Also, in years past when I have used a glossy photo paper to optimize detail, I found the paper very sensitive to handling and would wrinkle and show a flaw unless I was extremely careful. Many times I would need to print the image over again because I created a flaw when mounting it to Gator Board. I am pleased to report that Kodak has somehow achieved a glossy paper with seemingly low sensitivity to surface flaws due to handling.”

KODAK PROFESSIONAL Inkjet Photo Paper, Metallic / 255g is not only compatible with the latest aqueous printer technology from Canon, Epson and HP, it was developed to take advantage of the latest printer ink sets for maximum image fidelity.

“This photo paper has been in development for the past year. We took our time and tested various versions to make sure we got it exactly right,” says Justin Lehman, BMG vice president. “The final result is a paper that provides real pop, shine and dimensionality, which ultimately produces eye-catching, unique images.”

KODAK PROFESSIONAL Inkjet Photo Paper, Metallic / 255g is engineered to lay flat with little to no curl to ensure smooth production, and can be used for a variety of applications, including: high-end retail and display graphics, corporate and home décor, and more.

It is available in 8 1/2-by-11-inch and 13-by-19-inch sheets and rolls from 10 inches-by-100 feet to 60 inches-by-100 feet.
