FASTSIGNS to Offer 3M Visual Attention Software

The recent FASTSIGNS® International, Inc. annual convention in Dallas brought exciting news as FASTSIGNS locations added 3M Visual Attention Software (VAS) to their existing array of graphic design services.

VAS is an innovative web-based software tool based upon decades of vision science research, and works by analyzing designs and photos to predict what’s most likely to grab a viewer’s attention in the first three-five seconds of viewing.

“We are very happy to be able to provide this added value service to visual graphics buyers through our licensing agreement with 3M. It fits perfectly into our offering strategy as we seek to help customers solve their visual communications challenges, and having this software will help FASTSIGNS centers create even more attention-getting creative concepts for customers,” said Catherine Monson, CEO, FASTSIGNS International, Inc. “VAS provides a scientific approach for design decisions that were previously more subjective, and having it will help client teams reach design consensus quicker, help us create more impactful designs and streamline the review process for customers.”

After creating an initial layout, the designer can simply upload it to VAS and receive an analysis in about 20 seconds. The software generates five reports that can be viewed online, and downloaded to discuss and share with the client. Based on the VAS analysis, the designer can either revise the project or finalize the design, and present to the client with greater confidence.  Furthermore, FASTSIGNS will be able to initiate new relationships using VAS analysis of a prospective client’s existing signage, vehicle graphics, or any form of visual communications.

“3M is excited to help FASTSIGNS enhance their design services offering using VAS technology. We’re constantly looking for ways to use the science within 3M to help businesses grow,” said Mark Colin, Vice President, 3M Commercial Solutions Division.
