Marine Corp Air and Ground to Bring Excitement with New Video Display

The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center received a new LED video display designed and manufactured by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. The new video and scoring display system for football was installed at the Marine Corp Air and Ground facility in Twentynine Palms, California, early in 2015.

“The Marines and families love the new addition we have brought to Felix Field with the help of Daktronics,” said U.S. Marine Corps Athletic Director Danielle McKeever. “The capabilities are endless, our Marines train for weeks and months at a time and then ultimately deploy for six to eighteen months or more at a time without seeing their families. The unit family days, football and soccer games, and other functions now at Felix with amazing audio and video will leave a lasting memory, especially for those who will be gone for so long.

“That’s what this board was installed for, to better help serve those who have served us with dedication and sacrifice, and provide them with a better quality of life while aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.”

The main video display measures approximately 13 feet high-by-24 feet wide and features a 15HD pixel layout. This display features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image across the entire display to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be separated into multiple zones to show any combination of scoring information, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsor advertisements.

This display provides excellent image clarity and contrast with wide-angle visibility while also incorporating industry-leading environmental protection.

“Daktronics is excited to have partnered with Marine Corp Air and Ground for this project,” said Eric Cain, Daktronics sales representative. “This new display and scoring system provides every person attending an event at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center a unique and memorable experience, and as a United States-based manufacturing company we are proud to be a part of that.”
