Nebraska’s Bob Devaney Sports Center to Receive Centerhung Display System From Daktronics

Husker volleyball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and wrestling fans will soon have another reason to cheer inside Bob Devaney Sports Center as Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, has worked with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to design, manufacture, and install a new centerhung LED video display system. Installation is set to take place this summer and everything will be ready to entertain fans prior to the start of the 2015-16 season.

The centerhung configuration will consist of four main video displays. Two displays will face the sides of the facility and measure 13.5 feet high-by-28 feet wide, and two displays will face the ends of the facility and measure 13.5 feet high-by-14 feet wide. Together, they will provide more than 1,100 square feet of video display space. All four video display feature a tight 6 millimeter line spacing and industry-leading wide angle visibility allowing for excellent clarity and contrast from any seat in the house.

The displays feature variable content zoning, which allows them to show one large image or multiple smaller video zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, scoring information, up-to-the-minute statistics, animations, and sponsor highlights.

“We appreciate the opportunity to be working with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on this significant upgrade in the Devaney Center,” said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “This new display will provide a large digital canvas to greatly enhance the game-day environment for all Huskers fans.”

Daktronics has also recently worked with University of Nebraska-Lincoln to outfit the new Nebraska Soccer and Tennis Complex with Daktronics equipment.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
