material is due 10 days after closing date. Simmons-Boardman
reserves the right to pass on late production charges (minimum
$50 for expenses incurred). Cancellations must be made in
writing prior to closing dates.
Mechanical
Requirements
All advertising
material should be camera-ready and sized to fit. For black-and-white
ads, camera-ready is defined as a high-resolution output (1200
dpi) on RC (resin coated) paper, or when halftones are required,
film negatives, right reading, emulsion side down.
Four-color
ads must be accompanied by a progressive proof. Color keys
and color lasers are not acceptable for proofing purposes.
Ads
on disk. For your convenience, we accept ads in sizes
except for full-page on disk. We accept files created in Adobe
Illustratorª (Mac or PC), Macromedia Freehandª (Mac), Quark
XPressª (Mac) and CorelDrawª (Mac or PC). Don't
forget to send fonts and linking files! Ads on disk
must be accompanied by a digital proof. Please keep in mind
digital proofs are not made from the filmÑtherefore the printed
product will not match the proof exactly.
Laser
copies are not acceptable! Production charges will be
added to the insertion cost for ads that do not meet these
specifications, without notice or advisement of price unless
so requested on your insertion contract. A minimum of $150
will be charged for any changes necessary.
