American Sign Factory has acquired the assets of Sure Light Company in a merger that has created the Midwest’s largest and most dynamic custom sign fabricator and full-service provider of visual communications. Now boasting three facilities approaching almost 100,000 square feet combined and a service/installation fleet exceeding 20 vehicles, the combined companies are now able to manage much larger, more complex projects and programs. Eventually, the combined entity of the two companies will formally be renamed.

Global Imaging has promoted Josh Marten to director of Franchise Business Development. In his new position, Marten will continue to build and maintain relationships with Global’s major sign franchise accounts as well as drive new business opportunities throughout the industry. Marten joined Global in 2004.

Halco Lighting Technologies® his hired Jill Mungovan as marketing director. Mungovan will be responsible for planning and executing high-impact, strategic marketing programs to new and existing markets. She will also continue to expand upon the company’s business-to-business marketing initiatives to attain desired corporate objectives. Mungovan previously worked with Cooper Industries and SIMKAR Corporation.

Océ has appointed Patrick Chapuis to president and CEO of Océ North America. He will also retain his current responsibilities as president of the Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. Chapuis succeeds Joseph Skrzypczak, who has informed the Océ Board of his intent to retire in 2012. In his new position, Chapuis will have responsibility for the sales, marketing, service, operations, finance, and support functions. He has worked for Océ France, Kodak Office Imaging, and Danka Office Imaging.

OKI Data Americas has promoted Tod Ratcliffe to director of Graphic Arts & Production. Ratcliffe will be responsible for sales and distribution channel development of the OKI proColor™ Series of color printers, and he will oversee the proColor sales group. He brings over 25 years of experience to his position, having previously served as OKI’s regional sales manager, and prior to that, in positions at Fujifilm Graphic Systems and Mutoh America.

Scala Inc. announces new executive leadership appointments. Jeff Porter has been appointed as president of the SignChannel division, where he will be responsible for all aspects of the division. He previously led Scala’s Experts Group. Oscar Elizaga is now senior vice president, Americas, and he will be responsible for all of Scala’s sales, services, and support operations in the United States and Latin America. He previously served as Scala’s vice president, EMEA, India & Latin America. Peter Cherna is now senior vice president, Technology, and he will be responsible for the global product development team. Cherna was previously Scala’s vice president, Research & Development. Dave Palermo is vice president, Global Marketing, and he is responsible for the global structure, strategy, and execution for all aspects of marketing and communications with a focus on building Scala’s global brand and demand generation engines. He joined Scala with over 20 years of technology products and services industry marketing experience.

Vista System International appoints Danny Schneider to vice president of Sales & Business Development. Schneider will manage the group’s International Sales force as well as oversee the continuous expansion achieved by the division. He has been with Vista System since 2005 and has held various positions within the company.
