Learn Superior Printing Techniques at SGIA’s Workshop

Fairfax, Virginia—In today’s competitive marketplace, it’s essential for specialty imagers to stay on top of the latest printing trends and techniques. SGIA’s upcoming workshop, “Graphics Four-Color Process: Controlling the Variables“ (April 13–16; Fairfax, Virginia), teaches you how to master the task of printing process color.

Industry experts Bron Wolf (Pratt Corporation), Mike Ruff (Nazdar Consulting Services), and Ray Greenwood (SGIA) will take you through four days of intense, hands-on learning and show you how to:

* Use a densitometer to measure and control density and percent dot;

* Control critical variables in color separations;

* Create a screen to produce quality four-color prints;

* Troubleshoot and analyze print results;

* Implement a step-by-step process for “fingerprinting” your press; and

* Gauge process printing variables and their affect on color reproduction

“There was tremendous coverage of the color printing fundamentals and how they affect the four-color process,” said previous Workshop attendee Jeff Holley, Procter & Gamble Co. (Cincinnati, Ohio). “I have a much better understanding of what affects color quality and how to communicate with print suppliers in solving those issues.”

Combining lecture, interactive exercises and printing demonstration, the Graphics Four-Color Process Workshop provides the tools and knowledge needed to produce high quality, four-color process printing. Participants are encouraged to bring samples of their production problems for personalized help throughout the week.

Workshops are held at SGIA’s state-of-the-art printing lab in Fairfax, Virginia. SGIA members receive a discount off workshop fees. For more information and to register, go to SGIA.org, Keyword: Events.
