In Memoriam: Scott Mich (1952-2010)

Wood Dale, Illinois—It is with a heavy heart that Earl Mich Company announces the passing of its president & owner, Scott Mich, who died peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 16, 2010. One of the pioneers in the sign supply industry, Scott was an idealistic man with a big heart and a warm smile. He will be missed dearly by all of those who knew him. Scott Mich was fifty-seven years old.

Scott was born October 15, 1952 in Chicago, the son of the late Earl and Charlotte Samuels Mich. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion Anderson Mich, and three adoring sons, Benjamin, Christopher and Jeremy. Scott was owner and president of Earl Mich Company for over thirty years.

As an antique automobile enthusiast and preservationist, Scott was active in many classic car clubs including the Buick Club of America, serving as the Chicagoland Chapter president for several years, Antique Automobile Club of America, Illinois Region, National Antique Oldsmobile Club, Chicagoland Corvair Enthusiasts, and On The Road Classics.

In admiration of his wife's love for gardening, Scott was also a member of Gardners of Central Lake County.

The memorial service will be held at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, on Tuesday, January 19 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, 675 N. St. Clair, 21st Floor, Chicago, Illinois 60611.
