Orbus Inc Expands In-house Graphics Department
Bolingbrook, Illinois—Orbus Incorporated is proud to announce the expansion of their in-house graphics department with the purchase of a Jet-i 3324 Aquajet grand format printer, from Gandinnovations of Toronto, Canada. The Jet-i 3324 Aquajet was recently voted ‘Best Textile Printer of the Year’ by the EDPA.
Eddie Carmara, Sales Manager for Gandinnovations states, “We have pushed the envelope even further with the introduction of the Jeti 3324 Aquajet , our first three-meter-wide direct-to-fabric printer. It uses specially formulated, water-based dye sublimation inks, and cutting edge built-in infrared heaters, to provide high speed in-line curing and vibrant colors on any polyester based fabric.”
Aaron Kozar, Orbus’ Director of Graphic Operations, commented, “After much research, the Jet-i 3324 Aquajet, in my opinion, is head and shoulders above any other dye sub printer currently available in the industry.”
Kozar concluded, “From a business perspective, we are confident the 600 square feet per hour print production speeds and sturdy, quality construction of the Jeti 3324 Aquajet will provide the increased capacity and reliability to take Orbus’ busy 24/7 production environment to the next level. However, productivity wasn’t the only consideration. In 2008 Orbus initiated a company wide ‘green’ policy in preparation for ISO 14001 certification. We felt, as a company, that our printer choice should reflect our responsibility to the planet and our endeavors to reduce our carbon footprint.
“The Jeti 3324 Aquajet is a great eco-friendly print solution. It uses non-toxic, VOC-free, water-based ink and prints directly to fabric that can be made from recycled polyester. These lighter weight polyester banner and flag fabrics require fewer raw materials for their manufacture. As a result, the finished graphics are lighter, reducing the impact of associated transportation, making the whole package just about as eco-friendly as we can make it.”
Orbus is home to “The Exhibitors Handbook,” a leading market name in unbranded tradeshow and display products. In 2002, the company originally added a graphics department through the acquisition and merger of PPG, a small Chicago-based inkjet printing company.
Giles Douglas, Orbus’ President said, “In 2002 we identified the need to offer inkjet graphics as a value added service to our tradeshow product and hardware customers. As Orbus’ hardware business grew, so did the demand for our graphic services. The new Jet-i 3324 Aquajet is the third grand format machine that we have purchased from Gandinnovations in the last two years. It joins nine other inkjet printing machines all running over twenty hours a day.”
