Roland University 2008 Course Offering Features All-new Color Workshop Taught by X-Rite Color Services

Irvine, California—Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, has announced the 2008 Roland University workshop schedule featuring a new Color Workshop led by the color management experts at X-Rite Color Services.

“Since 1999, Roland University has taught thousands of professionals the skills they need to build their businesses,” said Rick Scrimger, vice president and general manager of Roland’s Color Products Division. “We are pleased to partner with the professionals at X-Rite to offer in-depth training on color management this year. Throughout 2008, Roland University will offer end users the following workshops taught by top industry professionals at the company’s state-of-the-art Irvine, California and North Kingstown, Rhode Island training facilities. Authorized dealer training courses will be held in both locations as well.

Roland Color Workshop - New

Led by the professionals at X-Rite Color Services, widely recognized as the world’s foremost experts on color measurement training, support and professional service, this comprehensive one-day workshop teaches the fine points of color management in conjunction with the Roland VersaWorks RIP software RIP engine. Participants will learn how to build ICC color managed workflows to get rich, dense colors and flawless image quality with Roland wide-format inkjets. The course also teaches how to evaluate media for compatibility, test for optimal settings and utilize custom media profiles. The Roland Color Workshop is offered in Irvine April 14, August 11, and November 3, and is offered in North Kingstown May 5. Additional dates and locations will be added to the 2008 schedule. Roland Productivity Workshop – New

In response to customer demand, Roland is pleased to offer this information-packed one-day workshop covering all the basics of digital printing with Roland inkjets. Throughout the session, users will discover new, exciting ways to get the most out of their Roland equipment including printer, VersaWorks RIP software and today’s most popular design packages. Instruction on VersaWorks will help attendees maximize valuable productivity tools including media profiles, Variable Data Printing and the Roland Color System for easy, precise spot color matching. The course also teaches proven print/cut workflows, provides media selection guidelines, and covers maintenance and calibration procedures. Upcoming Roland Productivity Workshops will be held in Irvine April 15, August 12, and November 4. The Productivity Workshop is offered in North Kingstown May 6.

Roland Born To Wrap Vehicle Graphics Workshop

Participants in this popular two-day course will learn first hand how to take a vehicle graphics job from design to installation. Roland specialists will instruct on how to get the best possible results from a Roland inkjet including media and laminating choices. Industry professionals will demonstrate the tools and techniques required and provide hands-on instruction. The Roland Born to Wrap Workshop will be held in Irvine March 13-14 and August 14-15. An additional Born to Wrap Workshop will be held in Louisville, KY June 23-24.
