Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Promotes Brian Heery to President/COO

Warrendale, Pennsylvania—Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc., has announced the promotion of Brian Heery to president and chief operating officer. He succeeds Jack Greaf as president, who will remain chief executive officer and focus on new business opportunities and overall strategic development.

Heery will be responsible for executing the strategic and business plans for all Mitsubishi Electric Power Products businesses and corporate services departments and will assume general management responsibilities for the entire company.

Heery, who holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, began his career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1981, where he held factory assignments in power transformers and power circuit breakers, and a field sales assignment at the South Texas Nuclear plant of Houston Light & Power.

Heery joined Mitsubishi Electric Power Products as a regional sales manager in Houston and transferred to Warrendale in 1994 to assist in the start-up of the then newly localized gas circuit breaker manufacturing business. He was promoted to general manager of that group in 1998 and vice president in 2003. In 2005, Heery was named vice president of the company’s Power Systems Group and in 2006 he became the chief operating officer of all Mitsubishi Electric Power Product’s operating businesses.

In addition to his work at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Heery supports the company’s community activities with his work on several non-profit boards of directors.  He is vice president of the Japan America Society of Pennsylvania (JASP) and a director of the Woodlands, a North Hills local organization and camp facility for children with disabilities.
