ISA Quarterly Report Shows Favorable Conditions in All Four Categories

The International Sign Association’s Sign Industry Quarterly Economic Report continues to show a stronger-than average outlook for the sign and visual communications industry over 2015 and 2016. The report was released today during ISA International Sign Expo 2015 to attendees.

The ISA Sign Industry Quarterly Economic Report covers the first quarter of 2015 and forecasts through 2016. It anticipates above average growth for 2015 and 2016. The report also shows that the outlook for all segments—large format printers, dynamic digital signage, electric signage and wayfinding—has improved since the last quarter of 2014.

The Economic Report, which was prepared in March using first quarter data, is sponsored by the National Association of Sign Supply Distributors (NASSD).

Other highlights:

IHS forecasts digital signage revenue to account for 15.9 percent of all global out-of-home advertising revenue for 2014 and 16.2 percent in 2015. Digital out-of-home advertising is still taking on a greater role as industries and organizations seek new avenues through which to connect with consumers.

Despite the weak start to the year, many consumer fundamentals are solid: lower energy prices, well-received employment reports, stronger real disposable income growth, and elevated consumer confidence. Retail and food service sales are forecast to grow just 1.8 percent in 2015, but jump to more than 5 percent in 2016 and 2017.

The report, compiled by IHS and Vandiver Associates, analyzes each segment of the market upstream and downstream to allow users to stay current with evolving business conditions.
