SIMONA Introduces its Energy Management System

SIMONA AG, a manufacturer of thermoplastic products, is one of the first plastics processing companies worldwide to introduce an Energy Management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. The Energy Management system is aimed at reducing production costs, encouraging in-house innovation, and extending the service life of operating systems. The goals are sustainable energy supply at affordable prices and an increase in energy efficiency.

A series of measures have already been implemented, including a comprehensive system for optimizing energy load to avoid peaks in electricity demand. Simona has also introduced new metering units or extended their use in the areas of electricity, gas, steam, compressed air, and fuel. The resulting data is systematically recorded and evaluated.

The Energy Management system is part of the SIMONA Management system. The integration of quality, environmental, and energy management forms the basis for continuous improvements to both products and process, for the sustainability and improvement in the company’s energy footprint, and for the reduction of CO2 emissions.
