Cooley Group Expands Leadership Team

Cooley Group, a leading chemistry company that designs and manufactures sustainable fabrics for some of the world’s most notable advertising, environmental protection, chemical containment, military and roofing initiatives announced today the expansion of the company’s leadership team with the hiring of three new executives and the promotion of a fourth.

Steve Katz joins Cooley in the newly created position of Director of Sales & Customer Service, Engineered Membranes, reporting to Steve Siener, Vice President and General Manager of Cooley’s Engineered Membranes division. With more than 30 years of industrial sales and contracts experience, most recently with Raytheon, Katz will be responsible for managing the growth of Cooley’s Engineered Membranes sales in North America. Cooley Engineered Membranes counts the 2010 oil spill containment in the Gulf of Mexico, Shhatrapati Shivaji International Airport roof in Mumbai, Shizaf Reservoir cover in Israel, and chemical storage tanks used for hydraulic fracking in Northern Canada as some of its sustainable initiatives.

Dan Johansen also joins Cooley in the newly created position of Director of Sales, Cooley Commercial Graphics, reporting to Bryan Rose, Vice President and General Manager of the Commercial Graphics division. Johansen has more than 20 years of digital imaging experience and was most recently with Kodak. Johansen will assume leadership responsibility for continuing to manage the growth of Cooley’s Commercial Graphics division in North America. Cooley Commercial Graphics counts the 2012 London Olympic Stadium Wrap, the first solar-powered billboard in Times Square, the only billboard print media Jumbo-Rolls (5 meters wide, 3 kilometers long), and 100% recyclable, nov-PVC products among its portfolio of sustainable initiatives.

Already leaders in their respective markets, Siener and Rose will continue to lead Cooley’s Engineered Membranes and Commercial Graphics overall business strategy with a focus on developing key strategic partnerships and expanding internationally.

Tem McInville joined Cooley as Plant Manager for its South Carolina operation. McInville has over 30 years experience leading textile plants in diverse cultural environments and was most recently based in Mexico with a global textile manufacturer.

In addition, Bruce Chretien has been promoted to Plant Manager for Cooley’s Rhode Island operations. Chretien joined Cooley in 2010 and has progressed through significant increases in responsibility. McInville and Chretien report to David Pettey, Chief Operating Officer, and have leadership responsibility for Cooley’s U.S. manufacturing operations.

“As Cooley continues its global expansion, the new executive appointments and internal promotion provide us with a significant competitive advantage by serving as the catalysts for driving our growth, profitability, and new business development opportunities,”  said Dan Dwight, Chief Executive Officer. “With an average of over 25 years of experience each,  the four newest members of our leadership team have the breadth and depth of leadership experience Cooley needs to provide the highest-level of service to our global customer base.”
