Mitsubishi AHawksThe Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena will unveil a stunning addition to their game-day presentations this season with two new 12-by-100-foot large-scale Diamond Vision® video displays at each end zone of the arena. The displays use Mitsubishi Electric’s newest 16mm display technology and will replace the former color displays and graphic panels that were initially installed when Philips Arena opened in 1999. The end zone system will be one of the largest in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and include the highest resolution of any displays this size.

“Philips Arena continually strives to provide the best in quality and performance for our guests through avenues such as customer service, food and beverage and technology,” said Bob Williams, president, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena. “These new end zone LED displays give us the opportunity to do just that by fundamentally enhancing the game day and concert experience through state-of-the-art technology.”

The new displays are driven by a control system that can simultaneously display video replays, scoring and player statistics, and animations. The system is anchored by Click Effects’ Blaze software that not only controls the end zone displays, but also the existing ribbon board/fascia displays. The new system will allow Philips Arena to integrate and synchronize animations and graphics of the end zone and ribbon boards for a more immersive fan experience.

In addition to the new end zone displays and control system, Diamond Vision Systems will also be providing nearly 100 feet of LED courtside tables that feature its IDT6 SMD 6mm display technology and industry-leading table design.

“The Diamond Vision line of large-scale displays has long been synonymous with technology, quality and reliability,” said Todd Stih, national sales manager for Mitsubishi Electric Power Products’ Diamond Vision Systems Division. “We are pleased that this value was recognized by the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena, and look forward to delivering a truly stunning addition to the game day experience.”
