Fisher Textiles to Unveil New Fabric Products at the SGIA Expo

Fisher Textiles, the leading supplier of fabrics for digital printing is pleased to present two new fabrics for Dye Sublimation and UV-curable printing, GF 8880 Opaque White (FR) and GF 5355 Cascade (FR). These fabrics are being unveiled for the first time to the digital printing industry at the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, booth 2234.

Named for its light blocking capabilities, GF 8880 Opaque White (FR) is the main component of Fisher’s SGIA booth. The booth has three towers ranging in height from 12 feet to 16 feet that use this product. GF 8880 allows printing on one side without the use of a blockout liner on the inside. It provides cost savings in both material and labor to sew the towers. Tested under AATCC 148-1989, this fabric produced 1.3% transmitted light and 98.7% blocked light. Available 125 inches wide, it is 8.0 oz./sq. yd, soft and has an extreme white point. This three layered woven material consists of a white face and back with a black layer sandwiched in between. Markets and potential buyers include, but are not limited to, retail advertising and trade show exhibit environments. Suggested applications are double sided banners, exhibit graphics and silicone edge graphics displays.

GF 5355 Cascade (FR) is excellent for awnings, canopy tents, outdoor banners and indoor roll up banner stands. Available 118 inches wide, it is 6.9 oz./sq. yd, and has a waterproof treatment for outdoor use. Tested under AATCC 42-2013 it had 0.13 grams of weight gain. For water repellency under AATCC 22-2010 (Spray) it received a grade of 80. Both of these new fabrics are flame retardant and pass NFPA 701.
