Large Format PSPs Rapidly Adopt HP Latex 3000 Printer

HP has announced strong adoption of the new HP Latex 3000 Printer, enabling leading large format print service providers (PSPs) to shift large-format pages from traditional solvent and UV-curable technologies to HP Latex Printing Technologies.

Since the product’s June 3 introduction, Crystal Clear Imaging (CCI), Imagic, and Vomela Specialty Company (among others) have installed the HP Latex 3000 Printer. These new units join the more than 17,500 HP Latex solutions installed worldwide, helping customers expand application offerings and reach new market segments.

“As competition in the sign and display market intensifies, print providers must continue to innovate and invest to meet changing client demands,” said Jan Riecher, vice president and general manager, Americas Graphics Solutions Business, HP. “The HP Latex 3000 Printer helps our customers cost-effectively deliver new levels of productivity, quality and application versatility to their clients.”

Industrial HP Latex Solution Opens New Doors

Creating a competitive advantage for high-volume PSPs, the HP Latex 3000 Printer offers broader media versatility and consistent image quality at high speeds with HP Latex Optimizer. HP 881 Latex Inks also provide a scratch resistance comparable to hard-solvent inks on certain substrates, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Playing an integral role in CCI’s new Atlanta facility, the HP Latex 3000 Printer positions the company for growth in a new geographic market. The printer’s quality and speed expand this HP-only shop’s ability to deliver impressive graphics with a quick turnaround for sports venues and casinos. The HP Latex solution also allows CCI to broaden its application range, even at high throughput rates, helping to speed return on investment.

“As we launch our Atlanta facility, the addition of the HP Latex 3000 Printer gives us the confidence we need to secure new relationships with local  brands,” said Andy Portman, Atlanta branch manager, CCI. “We selected HP Latex over a solvent or UV printer because it supports a larger spectrum of product offerings, making us a more dynamic and versatile graphics company. Our goal is to add more HP Latex printers because we are already seeing an increase in revenue.”

Founded in 1989, Imagic is a full-service, large-format digital printing company based in Los Angeles. The company recently installed the HP Latex 3000 Printer to meet the fast-paced demands of its transit industry clients, including airports and train stations. With the new printer, Imagic has dramatically increased output capacity as well as the quality it can provide for close-view graphics.

“At Imagic, we have always been on the cutting edge of technology and with seven HP devices already installed, HP has worked closely with us to transform our business,” said Paul Elmi, partner, Imagic. “As we looked to expand our capabilities, the HP Latex 3000 Printer was a natural fit because of its speed, quality and environmental benefits. Each day our customers want their projects faster, but without compromising the final product: this printer helps us meet that demand.”

Adding to its existing portfolio of HP Latex and Designjet printers (as well as HP Indigo Digital Presses) Vomela installed the HP Latex 3000 Printer to expand the capabilities of its High Point, North Carolina-based Motorsports Designs Division. With the new device, Vomela is producing high-quality, durable graphics and printed fabrics at higher speeds than is possible with competitive devices.

“After experiencing significant revenue growth over the last five years, we needed a reliable and versatile printing solution that would help increase our capacity and address more jobs,” said Mark Auth, president, Vomela Specialty Company. “The new HP Latex 3000 Printer allows us to quickly deliver vehicle wraps, posters, retail signage and fabrics, while satisfying customer demand for high environmental standards and exceptional print quality.”
