Alaska Airlines Center to Improve Fan Experience with Equipment from Daktronics

University of Alaska Anchorage fans attending events inside Alaska Airlines Center (AAC) in Anchorage, Alaska, will enjoy a brand new fan experience thanks to the upgraded LED video displays, designed and manufactured by Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota.

“The University of Alaska Anchorage and Seawolf Athletics are pleased to partner with Daktronics in the new Alaska Airlines Center,” said Keith Hackett, director of Athletics at University of Alaska Anchorage. “Having a world-class sports and entertainment venue in Anchorage, Alaska, meant that we needed to have world-class partners with the expertise to provide our visitors with high impact video and technology. Daktronics was the best and only choice for us. Their experience in this business, the excellent customer service they provide and the quality of the product they provide will play a significant role in the fan experience here at the AAC for years to come.”

The main LED video display will measure approximately 7 feet high-by-12.5 feet wide and will feature 10 millimeter line spacing. This display features advanced zoning capabilities, including full screen content for highlighting live video and instant replays. It can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information, and sponsor advertisements.

AAC will also receive two ribbon displays that will measure approximately 2.5 feet high-by-111.5 feet wide and will feature 20 millimeter line spacing. These ribbon displays will also be able to highlight statistics, graphics and sponsors.

In addition to the video and ribbon displays, the facility will add six LED scorer’s tables. Each will measure approximately 3 feet high-by-9 feet wide and will feature 10 millimeter line spacing. These displays will provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and provide additional game information.

“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with the Alaska Airlines Center and provide the facility new LED video displays,” said Mark Johnson, Daktronics regional sales manager. “The new equipment can improve the fan experience and bring excitement to the Alaska Airlines Center’s events.”
