GOA Announces 2016 Young Entrepreneur Award Recipient

Graphics of the Americas announces that Elena M. Galofre Cesáreo, Alfa Print S.A., Bogota Colombia; has been named the 2016 Young Entrepreneur award recipient. A special GALA luncheon award presentation will be held on February 18, 2016, during GOA, which takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center on February 18-20, 2016. The Young Entrepreneur award is given to a new generation of business leaders who are furthering the communications industry, who put forth extraordinary efforts towards marketing and technology challenges throughout the competitive Latin American region.

Elena Galofre serves as Commercial Director at Alfa Print S.A. in Bogota, Colombia. She attended the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in International Commerce.

Alfa Print S.A. is renowned for selling high-end labels. Within the four years Elena has been working at Alfa Print S.A., the company has been recognized with Best of the Year awards from Andigraf; and numerous awards from Conlatingaf.

Elena was introduced to flexography in 2008, when she began working at Tetra Pak in packaging sales management, working closely with the prepress department. A year later, she assumed responsibilities for the Andean market of Ecuador, Venezuela and Colombia.

In 2011, she began working at her family’s business, Alfa Print S.A., founded over thirty-five years ago by her father, Jorge Enrique Galofre. She began as Commercial Assistant and, in the same year, completed a Certificate of International Production, offered by CIGRAF, together with SENA, sponsored by Andigraf and EAN University.

In her role at Alfa Print S.A., Elena analyzes process improvements, and reviews data and trends in order to recommend tools for business consultants to increase sales. This includes modernizing the flow of information, and developing better tools to remain competitive in an increasingly demanding market.
