Creative Applications Breakout Sessions Scheduled for InPrint’s Industrial Inkjet Conference

Inprint Industrial Inkjet Conference Creative ApplicationsThis year’s InPrint Industrial Inkjet Conference will offer one-of-a-kind breakout sessions on creative applications in digital inkjet printing, ideal for companies looking to break into the growing décor market.

Scheduled for May 1-2, 2018 at the Palmer House Hilton (Chicago, IL), the conference is the premier educational and networking forum for the industrial print community, providing insight into the full spectrum of possibilities for manufacturing using industrial inkjet technology.

Highlighting trends, challenges, case studies, and the latest technical innovations in industrial inkjet technology across functional, decorative, and package printing applications, the conference will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from industry leaders who are developing the technology or successfully implementing it in their manufacturing processes. A welcome reception and tabletop exhibits will offer unique opportunities for networking and community building with industry thought leaders and technical experts.

One of the topics covered in the creative applications track will focus on digital print for packaging. Sharing insights on this topic, Jim Lambert, Vice President of Digital Sales – Ink and Hardware, INX International, will present “Direct Object Printing: Beverage Can Market.”  In addition, Daisuke Hamada, Executive Vice President for Kao Collins Inc., will present “Advances in Water-Based Inkjet Ink for Flexible Packaging.”

“When industrial inkjet started, the applications were limited,” says Kristin Adams, Marketing Manager for Kao Collins. “Now, the demand for novel inks and printer design for new applications is endless.”

Adams added, “Today’s inkjet inks do more, on more. Due to innovative raw materials, advanced print delivery systems, and print service providers pushing the envelope, ink chemistries have rapidly advanced in a relatively short amount of time. For example, we have water-based inkjet inks that print onto non-porous films for food packaging which was limited to non-digital printing just a few years ago.”

In his presentation, Hamada will explain how technological advances allow for new creative applications with digital inkjet printing. For example, Kao Collins has succeeded in developing a water-based pigmented inkjet ink for use on flexible packaging film media, featuring an environmentally friendly VOC-free design that minimizing emissions of volatile organic compounds. This makes it possible to achieve high-quality printing on flexible packaging film while reducing the impact on the environment.

Other creative application tracks will cover topics such as “Industrial Print Opportunities in Décor and Surface Décor Applications in Industrial Print” with presenters from CGS Publishing Technologies International and 4walls.com.
