Canon U.S.A. Celebrates End of 2014 with Top-Notch Industry Awards and Accolades

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is honored to celebrate the end of 2014 with several awards from prominent industry organizations and publications. Acknowledged for its industry-leading products in both the camera and printer markets, and business solutions, Canon Inc., the parent company of Canon U.S.A., has been recognized by Interbrand as a Best Global Brand and one of the World’s Most Reputable Companies of 2014 by RepTrak100.

Consumer Recognitions

Canon has earned several distinguished awards for its consumer products. In the second half of the year, Canon was awarded Reviewed.com’s Best of Year and Editor’s Choice award for its new EOS 7D Mark II Digital SLR camera as well as two additional Editor’s Choice awards for the PowerShot G7 X and PowerShot SX60 HS digital cameras; three Editor’s Choice awards from PCMag.com – the CanoScan LiDE 120, EOS 7D Mark II Digital SLR camera and PowerShot SX60 HS; one Editor’s Choice award from Tom’s Guide for the Canon EOS 70D Digital SLR camera; and two Editor’s Choice awards from Digital Trends for the PIXMA MG7520 and PowerShot G7 X. From Popular Photography, the 16-35mm f/4L EF IS USM lens took home the 2014 Pop Award for Photography’s Outstanding Products of the year.

 

Business Solutions Recognitions

Canon has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print and Content Services, Worldwide1 report. The Gartner Magic Quadrant positions vendors based on their performance across two major categories: the Ability to Execute, in which Gartner evaluates each MPS provider on its “success in delivering results today, as well as its preparation to deliver results in the future,” and Completeness of Vision, where Gartner evaluates a provider’s “prospects for success by analyzing its view of the market, service operating model and strategic plans for growth and service improvements.”

 

Buyers Lab LLC (BLI), a leading imaging industry analyst for multifunction, copier, printer, scanner and software solutions, awarded three 2015 Wide Format Pick Awards to Canon in the second half of 2014. In addition, the imagePROGRAF iPF680/iPF685 printers have been awarded the Outstanding 24-inch Color Wide Format Technical Printer, the imagePROGRAF iPF780/iPF785 printers for Outstanding 36-inch Color Wide Format Technical Printer, and the imagePROGRAF iPF785 MFP M40 for Outstanding 36-inch Color Wide Format Technical MFP. BLI also awarded Canon two winter 2014 awards – the imageCLASS LBP6780dn received the Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency award and the Color imageCLASS MF8580Cdw secured the Outstanding A4 Color MFP for Small Workgroups award.

 

The Color imageCLASS MF8580Cdw also earned a Best Buy award from Consumers Digest and a Business Choice Award for at-work printers by PCMag.com for its reliability and document and photo quality.

At Graph Expo 2014, Canon received two 2014 MUST SEE ‘EMS Awards for the Océ Arizona 6100, which is designed for higher volume sign and display print service providers and the Océ ImageStream 3500, the first, full-color continuous feed inkjet press in the Océ-brand portfolio that can print on standard offset-coated stock without the use of inkjet treatments. Three of Canon’s Océ Arizona® series printer models received the 2014 Specialty Graphic & Imaging Association (SGIA) Product of the Year Award in the following categories: Océ Arizona 318 GL, UV Flatbed (less than $200K MSRP); Océ Arizona 318 GL; UV Flatbed Plus White (less than $200K MSRP); and Océ Arizona 6170 XTS, UV Flatbed Plus White (greater than $200K MSRP).

For the Environment

Demonstrating Canon’s commitment to decreasing its carbon footprint, its 114,000 square-foot expansion of its distribution center in Norcross, Ga., was awarded LEED® v4 certification in the “Building Design and Construction – Warehouses and Distribution Centers” category in September 2014. This facility is used to store inventory and fulfill orders placed in the U.S., and is the first warehouse to receive this new version of LEED.

Top-Quality Customer Service

For the sixth consecutive year, Canon’s customer support center has been awarded BenchmarkPortal’s2 Center of Excellence certification in the technical support category, which places its call center in the top 10 percent as surveyed for efficiency and effectiveness.
