How many graphic communications companies can invent new printing techniques meant to teach customers about the possibilities of inkjet technology? If you guessed Agfa Graphics, you are correct. At the International Sign Association’s Sign Expo 2016, Agfa Graphics will launch innovative, breakthrough applications called “multidimensional printing” meant to stop attendees in their tracks.
Known throughout the industry for its clever and educational trade show application displays, the Agfa Graphics booth (#1335) at ISA will, for the first time, demonstrate how to create “multidimensional printing” using the company’s engines, software and media. ISA’s Sign Expo is being held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, from April 21-23.
“Multidimensional printing” describes a technique of creating unique output with rich and appealing depth and texture by layering and isolating inks and varnish on parts of an image. Agfa Graphics’ familiar “Application Zones,” full of real-life inkjet applications, are designed to educate and inspire print service providers looking to make a high impact impression for their clients.
The Agfa Applications Academy at ISA is a 10-foot-high wall featuring unique examples of creative inkjet output that grab the eye of passersby, like multidimensional printing. At a glance, the display offers an understanding of the impact of special effects like textural techniques, multi-layer and multi-pass printing. Attendees can see the results of using ink and varnish on both sides of a substrate, along with a secondary static or moving image for additional depth effects. The end result will surprise attendees with the realization of inkjet potential.
“Print service providers will find attention-grabbing inspiration throughout the booth at ISA 2016. Whether created on an Anapurna or Jeti inkjet device, the applications demonstrate new ways to use inkjet to make an immediate and lasting impression,” said Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing, Agfa Graphics, North America. “We are proud to be the only company with a skilled team of application and wide format specialists that support our customers. Our customers value this counsel and trust us to provide ongoing application and installation leadership and guidance.”
The Agfa Graphics booth will also feature two interactive cubes that attendees can walk through to experience inkjet up close and personal. For example, a floral floor cloth illustrates the success of a custom-designed, attractive inkjet canvas application which leverages this hot interior design trend. The cubes are also outfitted with inkjet samples output on Duratex, 3M, 3A Ultraboard and other popular brands of media.
Agfa Graphics’ team of wide format specialists will be available to explain the methods they used to produce these unique inkjet applications at Sign Expo booth (#1335). Subject matter experts will also be onsite to demo the many wide-format printing engines and workflow software. ISA is being held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, from April 21-23.
