Georgia Printco LLC Nominated for Georgia Manufacturer of the Year

Georgia Printco was nominated for the outstanding award of excellence and celebrated at the Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon on April 17, 2014. The Technical College System of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Economic Development recognized Georgia Printco as a perennial leader in the industry for 2014.

Tom Clarke, Partner, attended the luncheon to honor Georgia Printco and others. “It is a true honor to be among this group of extraordinary people who make a true difference in our state,” said Clarke.

Companies are divided into three categories—large (more than 500 employees), medium (151-500 employees), and small (150 employees or fewer). To qualify for the nomination, companies must have been in business for a minimum of three years. To be considered for an award, they must also meet criteria in the following areas: corporate responsibility; economic impact on the state and workforce excellence.

Governor of the State of Georgia, Nathan Deal, noted the tremendous contribution manufacturing makes to the state’s economic well-being. Nearly 9,500 manufacturing facilities are located in Georgia, according to the proclamation, and they provide 349,138 jobs and generate more than $18 billion in wages in the state each year. Managing Partner, Sheldon G.

Hurst, Jr., responded to the nomination by saying, “It’s an honor and a privilege to be nominated for such a prestigious award. It also confirms our dedication to collaborative partnerships that we have forged with the Department of Economic Development and Wiregrass Technical College, to name a few. Both of which are outstanding resources to community businesses.”
