GSG Raises $35K for Pancreatic Cancer Research

This year, GSG celebrated the seventeenth anniversary of the company’s annual Hank Granberry Gharity Classic Tournament, which is a fund-raising event honoring H.L. “Hank” Granberry, father of GSG President Mark Granberry, who passed away of pancreatic cancer at age 76.

Held Friday, October 21 at the Stonebriar Fazio Resort in Frisco, Texas, this years’ four-man golf scramble raised $35,000. The money benefits Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, two organizations that are dedicated to pancreatic cancer research and treatment. To date, this event has raised more than $300,000.

Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States and is anticipated to become the second by 2020. It is one of the nation’s deadliest cancers, with only 8 percent of those diagnosed surviving longer than five years.
