ISA Offers Help in Understanding New Healthcare Law

ISA PatientProtectionAct

ISA PatientProtectionActThe multifaceted “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” the nation’s sweeping healthcare law change, becomes fully effective in 2014. Already, though, businesses have steps to take to ensure that they’re ready to meet the provisions of the law.

The International Sign Association has created resources to help the sign industry prepare. In addition to print and video materials on the ISA website, David Hickey, ISA vice president of governmental affairs, will moderate a webinar with presenter Johanna Novak, an attorney with Foster Swift’s Health Care Practice Group. The webinar is at 2 p.m. (EDT) March 14.

“The healthcare law is complex and it’s important for sign companies to understand key compliance criteria,” said Lori Anderson, ISA’s president and CEO. “While it may be difficult for one company to keep up with the many changes the law requires, this is the power of an association, working together on behalf of all of our members.”

Among the topics included in the webinar are health insurance exchanges; the employer mandate and calculating full-time employees; the individual mandate; compliance deadlines; cafeteria plan implications; and nondiscrimination issues.
