MaxLite_t8Consuming just 20 watts while powered by a one- or two- lamp per driver configuration, MaxLite® introduces the LED Linear F32T8 Replacement Lamp for retrofit applications currently using 4-foot fluorescent tubes. MaxLite, a leading global manufacturer and marketer of the award-winning MaxLED® line of innovative LED luminaires and lamps using state-of-the-art LED technology, has designed the LED Linear T8 Lamp to allow for a single remote driver to operate pairs or a single T8 lamp.

“While fluorescents can buzz and flicker and contribute to headaches and eye fatigue, our new LED Linear T8 lamp is constructed with high-quality LEDs and a translucent diffuser that enable a silent, smooth operation,” says MaxLite’s Director of Product Marketing Pat Treadway. “The LED lamp provides significant ongoing operational savings due to decreased maintenance and lower energy consumption compared to the linear fluorescents on the market today.”

This universal LED T8 Lamp has an L70 life of 50,000 hours, or more than 17 years operating 8 hours a day. When the LEDs reach 30 percent lumen depreciation, end-of-life is reached and this life cycle far exceeds halogen and compact fluorescent (CFL) lamps, and is almost double the life of linear fluorescents.

The non-dimmable LED T8 Lamp is offered in a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 4100K with an output of 1550 lumens. The back of the housing is an aluminum heat sink that promotes the transfer of heat from the LED chips, which ensures cool operating temperatures and extended lumen maintenance.

While many other LED T8 lamps are constructed with an internal driver that generates heat in a concentrated area near the driver, which causes the LED chips in the lamp to decay at an uneven rate (leading to dark spots along the tube), MaxLite’s LED T8 Lamps are constructed with a remote driver that ensures the LED chips in the tube are exposed to a consistent amount of heat. This also helps prolong the life of the LED driver, as its body is not exposed to high operating temperatures.

Ensuring a simple retrofitting process, the LED T8 Lamp features standard G13 pins that fit into most common fluorescent fixtures easily and conveniently without removing an existing starter. The lamp features instant start technology and a simple ballast bypass without radio frequency (RF) interference.

With a power factor of more than 98 percent, the lamp operates on electrical systems ranging from 120- to 277-volts. Further demonstrating MaxLite’s commitment to quality, the LED T8 lamp driver is FCC- and cUL-listed, RoHS-compliant, and constructed without hazardous materials. An acrylic diffuser provides an even distribution of light while minimizing breakage compared to fluorescent glass tubes.
