Mutoh America, Inc., a leader in wide format inkjet printers and cutters, has donated printing and graphics for the City of Chandler’s Fifteenth Annual Celebration of Unity event. The annual event honors the community’s heritage and diversity, along with the spirit, ideals, life, and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the civil rights movement. Chandler is a large suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, where Mutoh America is headquartered.

This year’s Celebration of Unity includes:

Jan 10: “The Road to Freedom” with Freedom Riders Carol Ruth Silver and Claude Liggins, who will tell their breathtaking stories of how they fought for civil rights by riding buses into the segregated south during the early 1960s.

Jan 16: A performance from pianist Alping Hong (pictured, below) who is rooted in extensive classical training and uses his own stunning technique and emotional range paired with a humorous and visionary approach.

Jan 18: A performance from the African Children’s Choir composed of African children aged seven to ten.

Mid-February: “Then They Came For Us…” exhibit that explores three distinct events: the Holocaust, the treatment of Black people in Eastern Europe, and the domestic struggle for civil rights.

“Working with the community is very important to us at Mutoh,” shares Brian Phipps, vice-president and general manager of Mutoh America, Inc. “The awareness raised by this event and in other cities nationwide is worth every bit of printing and graphics we were able to donate. I encourage everyone to attend this and other Unity events in your area.”
