Orbus Volunteers & Cleans Up the DuPage River

Orbus Exhibit & Display Group™, one of North America’s leading trade suppliers of display, exhibit and event solutions, volunteered in the DuPage River Sweep on Saturday, May 17th at Hidden Lakes Forest Preserve in Bolingbrook, IL. This annual event aims to gather the community to clean the river and preserve its natural resources. Nine Orbus team members participated in the cleanup efforts.

Each year, spring flooding from winter snowfall brings debris into the DuPage River, along with pollutants. Volunteers, including the group from Orbus, picked up garbage, plastic bottles and other non-natural debris from in and around local sections of the river, helping to clean restore its natural balance.

“Volunteers picked up an old truck tire, wooden door, old baseballs, cans and general plastic, paper, and metal trash,” said Jim Concannon, Quality Assurance manager and ISO specialist for Orbus. “The Bolingbrook Park District stated that after three years of participation, Orbus volunteers are depended upon to clean up trash and help keep the river clean, which is much appreciated.”

The River Sweep removed several tons of trash from the DuPage River this year, with the help of 51 volunteers. This is Orbus’ third year participating in the event. Learn more about the annual impact of Orbus’ green efforts.
