Sign Builder Illustrated welcomes Alexandra (Alex) Lund, co-founder of Bismarck Sign Co. in Bismarck, North Dakota, to its advisory board. Lund, who was profiled by Wendy Graves earlier this year, brings a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a wealth of signage knowledge to the advisory board.

“I believe that my diverse background in graphic production, graphic installation, sign design, sales and marketing—combined with my experience in starting, running and growing a business—can make a valuable contribution,” says Lund. “Most importantly, I am passionate about positively impacting as many lives as possible. It may sound like an unusual perspective for a sign publication, but sometimes the smallest coaching tip or a gentle reminder can be exactly what someone needs.”

Lund has been focused on signage for over a decade and has increased the value of her local community and beyond through signage for years. She has proven herself as a true force in the industry.

“The sign industry has been my second home since I was 20, a place where I’ve spent nearly two decades growing and evolving. Throughout this journey, I’ve embraced many roles, each contributing to my understanding of the business. Among these various hats, my favorites have been those of Visionary and Coach,” says Lund. “As a Visionary, I love to explore innovative ideas and help drive the company in the right direction. While as a Coach, I find immense fulfillment in mentoring others and helping them reach their full potential. This blend of leadership and creativity continues to fuel my passion for the industry.”

In terms of her favorite types of projects to complete, Lund can’t whittle it down to just one type of installation.

“I love a good transformation, especially when it comes to executing a well-thought-out brand package. Honestly, I can’t choose just one option,” she says. “I enjoy wrapping ugly old white box trucks to turn them into rolling billboards and I also love creating a great storefront with wall wraps and edge-lit channel letters.”
