SGIA’s new Business Development Conference—set for May 11–12, 2011 in Denver, Colorado at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel—will focus on opportunities to move up the supply chain and improve imagers’ competitive position in the retail sector.

“Retail is one of the most profitable markets for specialty imagers,” said Michael Robertson, SGIA’s President and CEO. “The Business Development Conference in May will provide attendees with the tools and information they need to land more jobs in the retail sector.”

Opening speaker Carol Spieckerman, president of consulting firm Newmarketbuilders, will set the stage for the conference by discussing strategies for achieving success in today’s fast-changing retail landscape.

The SGIA-exclusive, two-day event will offer a mix of expert presentations, panel discussions and in-depth case studies focused on how companies can best position themselves for success in this sector. Attendees will get an inside look at:

* How the relationships between suppliers, retailers, and third party providers have been fundamentally altered—and how to take full advantage

* What your company can do to combat “commodity hell” at the retail level

* How to differentiate your company’s strategies—on both sides of the retail “table”

“Retail is entering a new period of transformation and SGIA members have an unprecedented opportunity to take a leadership role with both brands and retailers and to shape retail’s future in the process,” says Spieckerman.

Additional details about the Business Development Conference Series will be available on SGIA.org in the coming weeks.
