Two Roland DGA customers—San Francisco-based VIVAS, Inc. and Alberta, Canada-based Wide Open Throttle Graphics—have won coveted 2021 PRINTING United Alliance Premier PRINT Awards for their outstanding graphic design and print work.

The complete list of PRINTING United Alliance Premier Print Award winners, which was officially released on September 14, 2021, recognized and honored excellence in 71 different categories across a wide range of print production, including screen, offset, digital, wide-format, flexographic, gravure, and more. While the PRINTING United Alliance received thousands of entries in this year’s competition, only sixty-four award winners were selected.

VIVAS Inc., took Best-of-Category honors in the Wide-Format Printing/Décor category for interior wall graphics and an elevator wrap produced for their client TURO on a Roland DG TrueVIS VG2-640 eco-solvent printer/cutter as well as interior window graphics printed for the same client on a VersaUV LEJ-640 hybrid UV printer.

Wide-Open Throttle Graphics won the Wrap Installer Best-of-Category award for its themed “Abominable Voodoo” wrap project designed for a client’s RAM 1500 Sport pickup truck, Cross Traxx Sled Deck, and Ski Doo Summit Snowmobiles—all printed on a Roland DG TrueVIS VG2-540 eco-solvent printer/cutter.

“We were excited, but not surprised, to learn that these talented Roland DG users were recognized by the PRINTING United Alliance for their exceptional graphics work,” said Roland DGA Marketing Director Dan Wilson. “The quality of their award-winning prints is testimony to the outstanding creative abilities of these accomplished print professionals, but also to superior imaging capabilities of their advanced Roland DG devices.

“In both cases, the end-users took full advantage of the incredible color and vibrancy made possible by our next-generation, wide-gamut TrueVIS series printer/cutters and TR2 inks.”

The PRINTING United Alliance Premier PRINT Awards competition honors excellence in quality, creativity and innovation, exemplifying the very best in the printing industry. It was born from the convergence of the most advanced awards programs within the industry: SGIA’s Golden Image Awards, Printing Impressions’ Gold Ink Awards, Packaging Impressions’ Excellence Awards, and the Print Industries of America Benny Awards.

According to the PRINTING United Alliance, these awards programs laid the foundation for industry’s most prestigious competition—the Premier PRINT Awards—recognizing the “best of the best” in graphic communications.
