LightFair Owners Join Ukraine Relief Efforts

Ukraine

LightFair’s owners, International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and International Market Centers (IMC) invite the lighting industry at large to join them in responding to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine through donations to UNICEF USA. Donations to www.unicef.org/crisis-ukraine are 100 percent tax deductible.

“Over the past couple of weeks, the LightFair team has witnessed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with both shock and deep concern,” said Dan Darby, show director. “The remarkable resilience of the Ukrainian people has been a source of inspiration for all of us and for the entire world. The IALD, IES, and IMC have always had a longstanding tradition of supporting communities near and far, especially in times like these and we welcome the opportunity to partner to ensure that Ukraine’s children have access to safe water, nutrition, health care, and protection.”

On March 21, an email communication to LightFair exhibitors and attendees noted, “IALD, IES, and IMC are all mission- and values-based organizations and feel that organizations that are able to help have a responsibility to do so in whatever ways are possible. The people of Ukraine are in our thoughts and our hearts as we hope for a swift resolution to this crisis.”
