Decorah, Iowa—A recognition ceremony was held recently for Gemini Incorporated’s manufacturing facilities in Decorah, Iowa to present employees with OSHA’s Safety and Health Recognition Program (SHARP) Award.
A world leader in the manufacture of letters, logos and plaques for the sign industry, Gemini was re-certified for SHARP status on September 2, 2010 by Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Consultation. Gemini’s Iowa facilities had previously received SHARP status from Iowa OSHA in September of 2008.
This program recognizes employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. Acceptance into SHARP by OSHA singles an employer out as a model for worksite safety and health.
According to Jet Tran, Gemini’s Safety and Environmental Officer, the credit goes to employees and the commitment they have demonstrated toward safety for achieving the award. “We believe safety is our responsibility both in and out of the plants, and we’re continually looking for ways to improve,” said Tran. “We are very appreciative of the support and assistance by the people at Minnesota OSHA. The input and resources they have provided us with have helped Gemini develop an effective and comprehensive safety program.”
At its Iowa facilities, Gemini manufactures CAB & acrylic sheet, cast letters, cast plaques, acrylic letters, GemLeaf™ letters, Minnesota Injection Molded letters, Injection Formed Channel Letters, Metal Laminate Letters, and changeable copy.
Gemini Incorporated uses a variety of earth-friendly materials and manufacturing processes to make its products. The company currently has manufacturing plants in Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, Nevada, Virginia, Canada, and Mexico.
